21/12/18 - Year 10 STEM Event
Our Year 10 pupils ended the school term by participating in some fun STEM workshops which were based on electric powered vehicles. Many thanks to James Connor from Sentinus for organising these workshops.
17/12/18 – Bagpipes @ Morning Assembly
Pupils and staff enjoyed a visit from Mr Ian Burrows to our morning assembly today. Ian, who is the Project Manager of The Royal Scottish Pipe Band Association Branch in Northern Ireland, delivered a presentation about his passion for bagpipes and showed photographs and video clips of the many places in the world that he has performed. Ian also played a few tunes on both the pipes and the tin whistle before giving pupils the opportunity to have a try for themselves.
Many thanks to Ian – the pupils and staff clearly enjoyed his visit.

On Friday 14th December Years 8, 11 & 12 pupils had the opportunity to further their knowledge and understanding of relationships through the programme of workshops provided by the independent Christian organisation: Love for Life. This local organisation delivers these programmes in almost 70% of post-primary schools across Northern Ireland and are committed to working in partnership with schools to ensure that excellent relationships education is delivered to help pupils develop a healthy respect for themselves and others.

06/12/18 – ‘Tis the Season to Complete Exams!
Spare a thought for our Year 8-11 pupils as they commenced their Winter exams today. No doubt that our pupils are all extremely grateful to Vice Principal Mr Cousins and SENCO Mrs Flanagan for their detailed timetabling arrangements!
04/12/18 – Ulster Rugby Trip
Our Under 14 Rugby team performed very well as they participated in a Blitz Tournament against other local schools at Armagh Rugby Club last Thursday. As a rewards for their efforts, they then travelled with pupils from St. Joseph’s HS Crossmaglen and St. Paul’s HS Bessbrook to the Kingspan Stadium in Belfast on Saturday afternoon to watch the Ulster v Cardiff Blues match.
This trip was funded by Peaceful Future (South Armagh) with the boys also getting an unexpected opportunity after the game to meet the players and view parts of the stadium. A big thank you to Mr Watson for providing supervision.
03/12/18 - Year 12 Interview Skills Day
Year 12 pupils participated in the annual Interview Skills Day on Friday 30 November. The morning session was delivered by Sentinus Trainer Mr Pat Jamison and focused on preparing the pupils for the interview process. After lunch, pupils were given the opportunity to be interviewed by experienced individuals from the local and wider community. Everyone involved made a huge effort and feedback from the interviewers was very positively.
Many thanks to Mr Pat Jamison and the 7 interviewers for giving up their time to support this event. Thanks also to Vice Principal Mr A Cousins for co-ordinating the event.
