28/01/11 - Year 10 Career Planning
As part of the school CEIAG (Careers Education, Information, Advice & Guidance) programme all Year 10 pupils spent Friday morning participating in a Career Planning seminar that was run in partnership with the training organisation Sentinus. The aim of this session was to help pupils develop the skills and knowledge required to identify, prepare and plan for their future careers through focusing on:
• knowledge of themselves
• careers research
• personal skills
• goal setting
• action planning
It is hoped that this course will prove useful to the pupils as they begin to think about their GCSE subject option choices. Further support will be provided on these important decisions through:
Presentation by DEL Careers Adviser (09/02/11)
Presentation by SRC VEP Co-ordinator Mrs M McConville (22/02/11)
Interviews with Careers Co-ordinator/Adviser on request
Year 10 pupils are encouraged to look at the subject pages on this website in order to find a detail breakdown on each course offered and possible career paths.
Please contact Mr Megaw for further information on GCSE option choices or any aspect of CEIAG.
